As part of the book month from
mid-November to the last week, Kuwait Bilingual School
held 'a masked character a day' program during the
morning routine time every day. Both Arabic and English
teachers took turn to wear the mask of a character or a
symbol representing something and appeared before the
students to their amusement. English and Arabic
characters appeared alternate days and students were
asked questions related to the character or the symbols
teachers were wearing. Characters from Donald Duck to
Pup in Boots and symbols like Campaign for Nuclear
Disarmament and Olympics logos appeared in disguise. The
program culminated last Thursday, December 8, when about
20 teachers paraded with masks, led by Mr Norman Dennis
who cloaked himself as an ancient character.
